Emanuel Reed, Derrick Moore, and Clinton Gray are a powerful, serial entrepreneur trio. Their first venture, Green Truck Movers, started in April 2010. The Tennessee State University graduates enrolled in our Mighty Oaks program to grow their enterprise. They collectively learned about business processes, cash flow management, financial forecasting, and strategic planning.
Three years later, they founded a federal contracting company called GT Services, where they focus on staffing and logistics services for federal entities, such as the Department of Defense. In January of 2017, they sold Green Truck Movers.
In the midst of these business ventures, they began the planning for the insanely popular pizza franchise, Slim + Husky’s. The trio successfully opened the first Slim + Husky’s Pizza Beeria in March of 2017. The Nashville community quickly embraced the artistic, music-filled environment and locally-sourced, customized pizza. There are currently two locations in Atlanta and expansion plans for Memphis, Houston, Chattanooga, Charlotte, and Birmingham.
The trio has collectively been inducted into the Nashville Business Journal’s Black 40 under 40 class of 2018.
“We wouldn’t have the insane success without building our foundation at the Nashville Business Incubation Center. We look forward to growing our footprint.” – Emmanuel Reed
