The Green Truck Moving Company (TGTMC) was founded on April 15, 2010 by three long-time friends and college roommates Clinton Gray III, Emanuel Reed and Derrick Moore.  The company was started with an initial investment of $1000 each, and a goal to pioneer conservation efforts in an otherwise wasteful field.  To say their efforts over the past five years have been successful would be an understatement.

TGTMC entered the Nashville Business Incubation Center (NBIC) in June of 2011.  As Acorns, year 1 in the NBIC program, the company grew to seven employees and sales increased 365%.  They increased marketing efforts focusing on the environment, community, and customer service.

In their second year of incubation, the Seedling phase, TGTMC increased their number of moving trucks, and created three new jobs.  As Seedlings, TGTMC focused on developing their team, social media strategy, and search engine optimization.  TGTMC also concentrated on developing their commercial clients during this phase.

As Saplings, year three, TGTMC grew to 30 employees, obtained an 8(a) certification, and expanded the company regionally.

As Mighty Oaks, TGTMC’s fleet of trucks increased to nine, diversified into transportation, move management, storage, and waste management.

TGTMC closed their final fiscal year with NBIC with a 634% sales increase over their first year of incubation. They also created 27 jobs.  NBIC is pleased to announce that TGTMC graduated from the Traditional Incubation program in April 2015; moving into a larger warehouse space where they can continue to grow.

Among the many awards and community recognitions, TGTMC has been recognized as the 2011 Best Environmentally Friendly Business in Nashville, 2012 2nd Best Moving Company (behind 2 Men and a Truck), and the 2013 3rd Best Moving Company awards given by the Nashville Scene as high achievements in customer recognition. In 2014, the team was recognized by on the Nashville Black 40 under 40, and Clinton Gray was recognized by the Nashville Business Journal as a winner in the Chief Marketing Officer awards.

TGTMC is most recently honored with the 2015 National Business Incubation Association Outstanding Client, General and Special Focus Category.  NBIA awards nominations are open internationally to all members of the National Business Incubation Association worldwide.  This is the second consecutive win for NBIC, with NBIC graduate A-Z DME taking the 2014 NBIA Graduate of the Year Non-Technology award.

NBIC congratulates Clinton Gray, Derrick Moore, and Emanuel Reed, along with The Green Truck Moving Company, on their many significant achievements over the past four years.  NBIC is pleased to count you among our Mighty Oaks.
