Are you a woman-owned business looking to scale your company?

We're excited to announce that together with Truist Foundation, NBIC will provide special programming to support women-owned enterprises in Nashville, Louisville, Birmingham, and Huntsville, and rural communities. This is a fantastic opportunity for female entrepreneurs and business owners to gain the skills, knowledge, resources, and mentorship they need to succeed. Women-owned businesses have difficulty accessing the resources they need to reach their growth and scaling goals. It’s important to support them with the right resources so they can succeed, and that is why this program exists. Along with Truist Foundation, we recognized the urgency to provide education, resources, and support to women-owned businesses to help them reach their goals and create a more equitable and prosperous economy.

We are looking to create impactful growth opportunities and are committed to finding ways to empower individuals and communities through this innovative program. This 24-month commitment is an amazing opportunity to expand your business and grow professionally. Applications are due on Tuesday, January 31, 2023. Michelle Harris

scentsible Oils

Michelle Harris started as a nail tech with a big dream. Since attending NBIC programs, Michelle has scaled her business, Scentsible Oils, and even purchased a multi-tenant commercial building in Nashville, Tennessee.

Brenda Odom

UKno Catering

Brenda Odom, through NBIC, began expanding her services to offer cafeteria management. Her catering business went from five figure revenue to now sustaining seven figure revenue. Her food can even be found in Hudson stores through Metro Nashville Airport Authority.

Candidates should meet the following requirements:

  • You have been in business for at least two years.
  • You generate a minimum of $100,000 in annual income and have at least 1 employee.
  • You are seeking to make a transition from becoming a “worker bee” to becoming the CEO of your business.
  • You are willing to work ON your business, not just IN your business.
  • You are Coachable and have the willingness to receive constructive feedback.

Building your business requires emotional intelligence and business intelligence. Here’s an overview on what you can expect.


Emotional Intelligence

  • Pursing goals and opportunities despite obstacles and setbacks( self-management)
  • Handling conflict effectively ( relationship management)
  • Hearing what the other is “really” saying (social competence or “awareness”)
  • Self Confidence and awareness of your emotional state



Business Intelligence

  • Develop and implement systems to sustain success
  • Develop an actionable strategy to make a splash in your industry
  • Connect with the experts who will help take your business to the next level
Here are dates you need to know for the application process:
  • 1/3/23: Applications open
  • 1/31/23: Applications close
  • 2/6 to 2/16: Applicant interviews
Cohort will meet every other week (on Tuesdays), from 9AM to 12PM CST for 10 months. Attending at least 85% of classes will be required.
You will need to invest and dedicate a minimum* of 12 hours each month in order to be a part of this program / reach your goals.

You will also need to account for additional time to meet with your mentor 1:1 as well as your NBIC coach 1:1 in order to reach your goals.
